+ Ronald Barris
Mr. Barris is a Founding Partner in Barris Lotterer Management Consulting specializing in High Technology Operations and Strategy, with a focus on the Product Development and Product Fulfillment Processes.
He was the Managing Partner of Pricewaterhouse-Coopers’ Global Semiconductor Industry Practice, and more recently, the Strategist and SVP of Service for Cadence Design Systems. He also spent a significant portion of his earlier career with General Electric’s Power Generation Business in marketing, sales and corporate strategy.
Mr. Barris has held functional and executive management positions in General Management, Operations (manufacturing and engineering), Marketing, Strategic Planning, Sales Engineering, Services, Manufacturing and Project Management. He has spent half of his career involved in International Projects and the development of multinational business relationships. He is considered a thought leader in the design and implementation of Collaborative Product Commerce; the doing of business between global teams and across enterprise boundaries, and in the development of the design chain, the supply chain and the management of those relationships over the product life cycle.
Mr. Barris has a broad Industrial background including Power Generation, Construction Equipment, Integrated Material Handling systems, Electronic Design Automation, Factory Automation Systems, and High Density Disk Drives. Over the years, he has been involved in developing over 180 Factory Automation and Integrated Material Handling Systems. He has consulted as a Trusted Advisor with senior management to improve operations, strategy and functional direction in the Distribution, Computer, Electronics, Disk Drive, Office Equipment, Appliance, Clean Room, Semiconductor Fabrication, Semiconductor Equipment, Pharmaceutical, Construction Equipment, Service, Aerospace, Munitions and Automotive Industries.
He has deep experience in developing business and operational strategy that results in significantly reducing the amount of lead time and investment required to bring new products and service offerings to market and establishing the delivery of products/offerings as a strong strategic element of the Enterprise.
Mr. Barris was a founding member of the Material Handling Research Center at Georgia Tech University and a founding member of the Assembly Automation Manufacturer’s Association. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from Union College.
+ James Lotterer
James Lotterer is a founding Partner in Barris Lotterer Management Consulting specializing in Operational Excellence and Change Management, with a focus on the Product Development and Product Fulfillment Processes. He is a former Partner in Coopers & Lybrand's Center for Operations Technology, and has extensive experience applying the techniques of strategic planning, corporate restructuring, turnaround, and implementing world class operational tactics and systems. More recently, he was the Partner in charge of Computer Science Corporation's Aerospace and Defense Consulting Practice, where he helped Aerospace Manufacturers apply e-business and information systems technologies to reengineered processes in order to improve responsiveness, flexibility and cost.
Mr. Lotterer has extensive experience in High Technology, Commercial, and Industrial Manufacturing. He has held both functional and executive positions in General Management, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Business Development. Specific industry experience includes Automotive; Aerospace and Defense; Communications Equipment; Contract Manufacturing; Electronics Assembly and Test; Hybrid Integrated Circuit Manufacturing; Medical Electronics; Metal Fabrication; Machine Tools; Metals Processing; Office Equipment manufacturing; Sports Equipment and Telecommunications.
Mr. Lotterer combines his extensive industry, management and consulting experience to help companies increase competitiveness, through operational restructuring and turn around. He and his partner have restructured over 50 companies in the last 12 years to a lower base cost and competitive basis, and 8 of those clients have saved over $100 million on the bottom line 12 to 18 months after they started.
Mr. Lotterer began his career with Motorola in the communications sector, and went on to lead the quality revolution in Motorola's Automotive Electronics Business Unit. He was instrumental in the development of the six-sigma process and took a leadership role in driving a ten times improvement in overall quality. He held senior manufacturing management positions with Pitney Bowes Electronic Meter and Scales Division, where he was responsible for implementing Just-in-time Manufacturing and Total Quality Management programs; He was an Executive Vice President with Connell Limited Partnership, a $1.5 billion industrial manufacturing company, where he led an operational restructuring effort that resulted in increasing the value of the precision metals division. He was also a Partner in Coopers & Lybrand's Center for Manufacturing Excellence; and Partner in charge of Computer Science Corporation's Aerospace and Defense Consulting Practice.
Mr. Lotterer is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Electronics Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration, with emphasis on General Management.
+ Umar Salahuddin
Umar Salahuddin is a Partner with BLMC specializing in Operations and Strategy with several years of experience in operational restructuring, business process reengineering, lean manufacturing, and inventory optimization. He has spent a large portion of his career re-engineering business processes for the manufacturing and financial services industries across North America, Europe, and Asia, leading client teams through complex transitions across functions and geographies, achieving order of magnitude performance improvement on several assignments.
Mr. Salahuddin has broad industry experience, including: Aerospace and Defense; Telecommunications; Electronics Assembly and Test; Power Generation; Semiconductor and Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing; Medical Electronics, Health Care, and Government Services.
Mr. Salahuddin has strong experience in strategic alliance development, market analysis and market entry. He is a former Senior Manager at Cadence Design Systems, responsible for market assessment and developing alliance strategies, and was also part of the Program Management Office for the global Siebel rollout across North America, Europe, Japan and Asia Pacific. Prior to Cadence, he worked in the telecommunications and wireless space in the strategic planning area, and was part of the strategy group at Nortel Networks focusing on competitive strategy and alliance development.
Mr. Salahuddin also has a strong background in world-class technology development from concept to implementation. He was a Project Manager with Ballard Power Systems, and Forintek Canada, spear-heading the development of leading-edge technology for the Fuel Cell and Forestry industries.
Mr. Salahuddin holds an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the University of British Columbia.
+ Raghu Nathan
Raghu Nathan is an advisor to Barris Lotterer Management Consulting, and is a results driven IT professional with extensive experience leading people and project teams; implementing and overseeing technology programs, and administering multimillion-dollar budgets. Mr. Nathan posses an in-depth understanding of emerging technologies and their commercial applications. He has nearly twenty years of IT experience with Large Systems Integration, Solution and Customer Service Systems and Knowledge Management.
Mr. Nathan has expertise in Multi-site Technology Operations, Relationship and Team Building, Strategic Planning and Operations, Decision Making, Quality and Performance Improvement, Project Management, Budgeting and Financial Planning, Processes Reengineering, Turnaround and Crisis Management, Presentation and Deal closing, Enterprise Integration, Business Intelligence, and is a Technology Enabler.
Mr. Nathan has managed engagements for various clients in the service industry for both the Front Office solution and the back end enterprise integration areas using Clarify, Siebel and e-Gain as premier Front Office products. Partial clients include ADP, Natural Micro Systems, Sprint PCS and Benefit America. The core expertise includes CRM, B2B solutions and enterprise integration.
Mr. Nathan managed the web based benefit administration package implementation for a large N.Y. based Insurance company. The project included onsite coordination, off-site and offshore development components in multiple locations. Responsibilities included project management, architecture and design verifications, client coordination and delivery activities. In addition, he focuses on business development activities leading to Enterprise Integration and Business Intelligence projects in specific industries such as the Energy Sector and the Financial Services Sector.
+ George Raniuk
George Raniuk is a partner with Barris Lotterer Management Consulting and specializes in the MEMS and Data Storage market segments. He brings executive-level technology and operations leadership, from product definition, business development, marketing, sales to P&L management, with over 25 years in technology transfer together with startup of high-volume, high-technology manufacturing operations throughout the US, Asia and the Pacific Rim. He has extensive turn-around and revitalization experience. His international business experience has been in Mexico, Brazil, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany and France. He is the founder of a company developing solutions for NAS/SAN applications, and a former President and COO of a MEMS start-up company.
Mr. Raniuk is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters degree in Material Science and a Masters degree in Business Administration.
